Q: Where are this year's Transplant Games located?
A: In Pittsburgh (PA), voted one of America's top 10 most beautiful cities by USA Weekly. Located in the hills of Western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh is easily accessible. Its central location (between the Atlantic Corridor and the Midwest) makes for an easy drive or flight. There are regular flights to and from Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), just 25 minutes from Downtown.

Q: Can I compete?

A: Competition in the Games is limited to those who have recieved a life-saving organ transplant. Senior, adult, teenage, or child recipients are able to participate in athletic competition. Donor families, living donors, and other members of the transplant community are encouraged to attend to cheer on the athletes. There are also exciting programs in place for living donors and donor families.

Q: What are the facilities being used for the Games?

A: The Transplant Games is a big event, so a wide variety of facilities are required. Many locations are being used for athletic and non-athletic events happening throughout the Games. The locations being used are:

• David Lawrence Convention Center (Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Opening Ceremony, and other social events)
• Carnegie Mellon University (Track and Field)
• Heinz Hall (Donor Recognition Ceremony)
• North Park (Golf, Cycling)
• North Shores (5K Road Run)
• Schenley Park (Tennis)
• Deer Run Golf Course (Golf)
• New Great Valley Lanes (Bowling)
• Hilton Pittsburgh (Social events and donor family/living donor activities)
• Petersen Events Center (Closing Ceremony)

Q: Where can I stay?

A: There is a multitude of convenient hotels for Transplant Games athletes to stay in that are close to events and activities. The official hotels for the 2008 Games are:
